MURIEL'S STORY
Stockings being collected now!

In December 2013, when Muriel Walters was only 16 yrs old she started making a bucket list of things she wanted to do before she died. Muriel was terminally ill from Osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer. A couple of the things on Muriel's bucket list were normal teenager things like learn to drive and visit New York City. But the one that she decided was most important in her during her last days was that she wanted to provide holiday stockings for the children on the Pediatric Oncology floor at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Muriel spent many holidays in the hospital and she knew what it was like to be stuck in your room for days, sometimes months. Muriel asked friends and family to donate toys, candy, crafts to fill stockings while her family sewed stockings to fill. That year they provided 84 stockings to the hospital. Muriel passed away Feb 12, 2014 but her stockings live on just as she had hoped.
